For some patients with snoring or obstructive sleep apnea, a custom oral appliance can provide a comfortable and convenient alternative to traditional CPAP therapy. These appliances are designed to gently position the lower jaw forward while you sleep, helping keep the airway more open and reducing snoring and breathing interruptions.
Because a custom appliance is made specifically for your mouth and bite, it is typically smaller, quieter, and easier to travel with than a CPAP machine. Some patients also find it more comfortable and easier to use consistently, particularly if they have difficulty tolerating a CPAP mask. Oral appliance therapy is not right for every patient, so we work with you and, when appropriate, your physician or sleep specialist to determine whether it is a suitable option for your needs.
